Back to reality
Yesterday was my first day back at work. Its always tough getting back to work after a big fight.
Managed to find a video of my fight over the weekend. After re-watching it I noticed a lot of things that I don’t even remember.
As one door closes another opens…
Someone get these lads a steak!
On the 20th FEB 2009, Denis and I fought on CFC Cage Fighting Championships @ the Big Top Luna Park in Sydney. Denis fought at 70kg and I fought at 62kgs. I had previously only fought thai boxing at under 63kgs and seemed to struggle to make that. 62kgs was a new all time low for me! Making weight this time around wasnt too tough as I had already begun making adjustements to my diet in the xmas of 08. I tried to stick to a strict paleo diet, which seemed to work well as the weight would just shed off and I could still maintain a high level of training. We both weighed in fine and jumped on the fluids asap.
I ended up losing my fight in round 2 via a rear naked choke. Damn. Not the decision I trained for but hey its the fight game, anything can happen. Denis also loses in R2 via strikes. Were there things I would have changed throughout my fight? Yes… I learnt alot from this fight and will take much away from it.
Would like to post a few more pics but will need to contact promoter to get my hands on them.
